Since I’ve moved to Maryland, I’ve been looking for a studio space (outside of my home studio) so I can connect with other artists in Maryland and have a place outside of my home to do my work and show work. I can get lonely working at home for many days in a row, so having a place outside of my home gives me the opportunity to go to another place to work and to be part of a group studio space.
I found the perfect place where I am a part of a large and diverse group of artists. My studio #29 is part of the “Artists and Makers” flagship building, located at 11810 Parklawn Drive. This is a a 13,000 Sq. Ft. facility consisting of 43 studios, 3 classroom/workshops spaces, 5 galleries, and is home to 70 juried artist residents.
In addition to a monthly “First Friday” event on the first Friday of every month, we will have an “Open Studios Weekend” on April 6-7 of 2018. I will be there, working in my studio from 12-5 on both Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7th. We also will have our Open Studios on the Friday night before the weekend on the evening of April 5th from 6-9pm.
