Glen Echo In-person Workshops! (Saturdays)

Learn how to how to create a beautiful piece of paper art, using different subjects as the inspiration! You will learn the unique technique of Ronni Jolles, as you complete a beautiful piece of art in layered paper. It’s fun and no previous art experience needed. “Italian Townhouses” in Layered Paper

We will be creating a layered paper piece of artwork - inspired by the charming townhouses you find in Europe . We’ll learn how to do windows, flower boxes, clotheslines, and vines. Using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world, you’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas. This is a fun one!

We’ll learn about value and how to make things look three-dimensional, as we use hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world. You’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create textured scenes on 8” x 10” stretched canvas.

“1-Point Perspective and Lavender Fields” in Layered Paper

In this workshop, we’ll begin by learning about 1-point perspective. It’s a simple concept, yet brilliant! I’ll teach you through slides and our own drawing exercise, and then you’ll be ready to create a piece of lavender fields in layered paper! Using hundreds of kinds of paper I’ve gathered from all over the world, you’ll rip, cut, and crinkle papers to create a textured scene on 8” x 10” stretched canvas. This class is an hour longer than my other workshops.
